Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about

He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings
created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and
how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1 : Life is not fair - get used to it!
Rule 2 : The world doesn't care about your self-esteem.

BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
; X( E5 I0 K1 e* ORule 3 : You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school.
You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.
1 Y& z; t% Z: P7 D0 yRule 4 : If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss

Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping:

as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills,

but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades
and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer.

are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF.

Rule 10 : Television is NOT real life.
In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.
Rule 11 : Be nice to nerds.
Chances are you'll end up working for one..

这个讲述太棒了！这也是大部分高中老师讲给学生的。但是大部分青少年都不能真正的领会。这也是可以理解的，青少年的成长是靠他们自己亲身体验和京历过才会理解的，很多时候说教不是很有效的。这就牵扯出一个家长教育方法的问题，许多家长 over protect , 害怕让孩子失败。让孩子早一点体会失败，不是一件坏事，让他学会自己对自己的行为负责，而不是家长给孩子准备好一切，而且邦孩子擦屁股，当他们犯错时。
