Ringing in the Chinese New Year

Even winter’s worst couldn’t stop the show from going on at Centennial Hall on Friday night (Feb. 8) as hundreds came out to take in the London Chinese New Year Gala.
Also known as the Spring Festival, the event was hosted by the London Chinese Association. Approximately 100 local performers took to the Centennial Hall stage treating guests to a mix of both traditional and contemporary dance, song and entertainment to welcome in the Year of the Snake.

An while the weather may have kept attendance figures lower than expected, organizers said it was a new way to bring the community together and are looking forward to this becoming an annual event.
